Mini-DIY: Make your own BORG with voice recorder and playback

Resistanse is futile!
Taking apart the pen
This is the part I enjoy the most :)
Circuit liberated and photoresistor added
Pretty! I decided to try to ad a light sensitive switch (photocell/photoresistor) to the mechanism. You can see it on the left in this picture, the roundish redish part with two long legs. Bought at Radio Shack.I simply soldered the photo resistor to the pins of the original button. When light shines on it it triggers the recorded sound.
Donor doll: Action man
The biker shorts has to go though :)
Action man closeup
I like the scars :) A doll for boys, no doubt about that.
Improving audio
The audio on the original voice recording pen was a little low, so I looked for a speaker with better output, and found it in the speaker from this dirt cheap electronic game.
Snip snip
Off with the the original speaker.
Borg!
Need to solder the new speaker to the original circuit. The Borg would be proud.
Solder complete
The solder joints is reinforced
Borg fashion
I decided to but the section with the mic and the potentiomenter that controls the pitch in place of one of the eyes, in true Borg fashion.
Borg, side view
The yellow and red part contains the batteries, and I’m thinking about painting it black.
Recording button
If you press the small black button in the back of his head and press together the small "beak"-looking thing you can record new sounds. The chip can hold about 10 seconds of audio.
Hello, My name is Borg

Resistance is futile ble først brukt i episoden "Best of Both Worlds" fra Star Trek: The Next Generation. Jeg vet ikke om det var akkurat her jeg skulle svare, men det virka logisk nok å svare på denne posten.
